Welcome to the Brown Pediatric Residency Program at Hasbro Children’s. Thank you for considering our Pediatric Residency Program as part of your journey to becoming a Pediatrician. Please explore our website to learn all about the amazing opportunities our program will provide, learn about our innovative curriculum, meet our talented residents and faculty, and experience why we all fell in love with Providence and Rhode Island.

The Brown Pediatric Residency Program is an academic program geared towards training clinically skilled, empathetic pediatricians who will become tomorrow’s leaders in child health. All training occurs in an environment that fosters diversity, inclusion, and belonging, and which supports, yet challenges our residents to grow and develop the foundational skills to be strong Pediatricians, leaders, and advocates for social change. One of our best attributes is the people who work and train here, fostering a culture of family, collegiality, and support. As medicine advances and program requirements change, we always value the suggestion and ideas of our house staff to ensure their wellbeing while continually growing our program.

At Brown, we aim to sharpen our residents’ clinical skills through evidence-based medicine while embracing a collaborative team-based approach when caring for our patients and their families. We provide our learners with opportunities to explore various specialties within Pediatrics and help them engage in academic scholarship in their areas of interest. Our residents are taught the leadership, advocacy, and research skills that will allow them to thrive within their future careers.

Providence, with its diverse population and multiple opportunities to enjoy life outside the hospital, is an excellent place to do residency. Known as the "Ocean State," Rhode Island offers beaches, outdoor activities, great restaurants, fun cultural festivals, and easy access to all of New England.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our program. We look forward to meeting you during the interview season so we can further share with you everything our program and Rhode Island has to offer!
