Amy DeGaetano, MD
Biography
Amy (she/her) grew up in Dryden, NY, and attended Cornell University, where she majored in Biology and Society with a minor in Exercise Science. Before attending medical school at SUNY Upstate, she worked as an EMT, managed a bouldering gym, and tutored. She was drawn to pediatrics because of the acuity of disease processes, the variety across ages, and the opportunity to care for patients and families during their formative years.
Amy is so excited to join the Brown family and has felt incredibly supported by her colleagues and co-residents. She appreciates the thought faculty and staff put into teaching, whether during didactics or impromptu teaching on rounds.
Outside of the hospital, Amy enjoys hiking, running, and cross-country skiing, and she is excited to explore Rhode Island’s beaches via paddle board. She also loves cooking, baking, and eating and has quickly become a huge fan of Del’s lemonade!
