Biography

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, Dr. Brianna Maia Jabon is a proud Portuguese-American with deep roots in the Azores (which fostered her love for perfectly grilled sardines). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Psychology and Cognitive Science from the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she was a fellow of the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program. Her undergraduate research ranged from synthesizing nanoparticles to detect infectious diseases to exploring how babies process sights and sounds. She received multiple research fellowships and contributed to peer-reviewed publications and national presentations.

Dr. Jabon earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine, where she served as President of the Student Pediatric Medical Association (SPMA) and Co-Vice Chair of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Action (I.D.E.A.) Council. She was recognized with several honors for her academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to pediatric health and advocacy.

Outside of medicine, she’s not just a physician—she’s also a princess (and sometimes a superhero). Dr. Jabon founded Heroes for Hire New England, a volunteer initiative that brings handmade-costume magic to pediatric hospitals, shelters, and community events. Whether leading sing-alongs or wielding a glittery wand, she believes in the healing power of imagination and joy.

Her clinical and academic interests include gastroenterology, the gut microbiome, and the intersection of art and medicine. Dr. Jabon is passionate about delivering evidence-based, inclusive care while wearing a tiara!
