Biography
Emily (she/her) is from Brookline, MA and graduated magna cum laude with Highest Honors in Human Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University. She received her MD-PhD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons; for her doctoral dissertation, she investigated the diagnostic utility of exome sequencing for kidney disease. After graduating from the Columbia University MD-PhD program, she was a post-doctoral research fellow at the O’Donnell-Luria Laboratory at Boston Children’s Hospital/Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT, where she conducted large-scale diagnostic analyses of multiomics data from individuals with undiagnosed rare diseases. She did her first two years of general pediatrics training at the Children’s National Hospital-National Human Genome Research Institute Combined Pediatrics-Medical Genetics Program. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to complete her categorical pediatrics residency as a third year at Brown. She is passionate about rare diseases and genomic medicine, and hopes to apply her MD-PhD and genetics training to advance care for acutely ill, often medically complex children as a clinician, academic researcher, and medical educator. In her free time, she enjoys biocurating for the Clinical Genome Resource, yoga, crossword puzzles, and baking.
