Pediatrics Residency

Juliana was born in Colombia and moved with her family to Massachusetts when she was two years old. She left Massachusetts for Minnesota for her undergraduate degree at Macalester College, where she majored in biology and minored in anthropology. It was in college that Juliana began developing a passion for community health and decided to pursue a career in medicine. After college, Juliana worked as a clinical research coordinator at the Diabetes Research Center of Massachusetts General Hospital, coordinating multiple studies focused on gestational diabetes. She obtained her MD from UMass Chan Medical School. During her time in medical school she was involved in the community health track and in pediatric asthma research evaluating a school-supervised asthma therapy program. Juliana has strong interests in primary care, adolescent medicine, and community-based research. In her free time Juliana loves exploring nature trails, cooking with her fiancé, trying new restaurants, and hanging out on the couch with her dog Cosmo. She is excited to have matched at Brown and can’t wait to explore Providence!
