Pediatrics Residency

Katya’s family is of Ukrainian descent, but she herself was born in Moscow before her family decided to immigrate to Israel and eventually to the United States in 2008. She has considered Needham, Massachusetts her home ever since.

Katya went on to study Physiology and Neurobiology at UConn (Go Huskies!) where she loved supporting the basketball teams even when the men weren’t stellar. She took no time off and started medical school at UMass Chan in the midst of the pandemic in 2020. In medical school Katya was involved in tutoring, a COVID-19 student task force, and research in the intersection of Cardiology and Women’s Health which sparked her passion for taking care of women throughout their lives. This passion lended itself perfectly for her to pursue residency in combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, especially at Brown, where she was struck by the kindness the faculty, residents, and staff bring to the table.

Katya loves live music (local or big names like TSwift, Zach Bryan, Noah Kahan), exploring new restaurants/breweries/wineries, and board game nights with friends, family, and her partner, Jordan. Her favorite activity, however, is cuddling with her parents’ dachshund named Watson.
