Pediatrics Residency

Martin was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. He attended Emory University where he majored in biology and minored in sociology. His original plan was to become an internist, but he discovered the incredible field of pediatrics in medical school at Brown University. Pediatrics feels like a perfect fit for Martin given his previous work with children as a mentor, tutor, and orchestra assistant teacher. Martin is passionate about climate change and sustainability and their intersections with healthcare. He has worked on waste disposal projects in clinical settings and served on committees dedicated to improving medical curriculum and creating more opportunities for community engagement related to planetary health. Martin is thrilled to be continuing his education at Brown and exploring more of Rhode Island’s food scene. Outside of medicine, Martin enjoys being with friends and family, gardening, cooking (not baking), binge-watching the latest TV shows, and occasionally being active.
