Maura Barry, DO
Biography
Maura (she/her) grew up in North Andover, Massachusetts, and attended Tufts University, where she majored in Biology and Spanish, before earning her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her clinical interests include primary care and potentially pediatric hematology/oncology, and she hopes to build a career that incorporates her passion for improving access to care, addressing social determinants of health, and emphasizing preventive medicine. Maura ranked Brown highly because she felt an immediate connection with everyone she met on interview day, had heard wonderful things about the program from people she knew, and loved the opportunity to stay in New England close to family and friends. So far, one of her favorite things about Rhode Island has been exploring Providence’s restaurant scene with her husband and co-residents. Outside of the hospital, Maura enjoys watching movies and TV shows, and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to continue exploring Rhode Island, growing as a pediatrician, and finding ways to make a meaningful impact on the health of children and families throughout her career.
