Biography

Megan was born in Pembroke Pines, Florida, but grew up mostly on the Space Coast in Palm Bay, FL. Fun fact: Megan’s cell phone area code is 321 because of the Florida Space Coast being home to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center and many rocket launches! She grew up in a multigenerational home and was exposed to many areas of healthcare at a young age because of her grandmother’s multiple health conditions. She had a great relationship with her childhood pediatrician, and from a young age wanted to be a pediatrician too! For undergrad, She attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando (go knights, charge on!) and earned a degree in health sciences with a minor in art history! Throughout college, she was passionate about serving her community through volunteering at local hospitals and being part of the leadership board for a student government-funded organization, Volunteer UCF.  She then had the opportunity to  stay at UCF for medical school! She is grateful that she was able to call Orlando her home for another four years and even met her husband (who she couples matched with at Brown!) during one of their MS1 small groups. She was so happy after her interview day at Brown; even on zoom, she could sense how warm and inviting the community was and felt that it would be a great place to learn and grow as a new physician in training! (Also she is excited for her first fall in the northeast!) Megan is open to exploring different subspecialties. She is most passionate about advocacy and how the social determinants of health affect pediatric patients. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies with her husband, reading a good book, shopping for trinkets, makeup, coloring, crafting, and baking!
