Nicole is a first-generation Ghanaian-American who was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. She attended Emory University where she majored in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology (NBB) and the Integrated Visual Arts Co-Major (IVAC). After college, she completed a master in science in Human Nutrition at Columbia University. She briefly returned to Rhode Island to work as a research assistant for an HIV social media campaign at the Brown University School of Public Health before she moved to Albany, New York to earn her medical degree. Influenced by her time in medical school, Nicole has special interests in medical ethics/professionalism and transition of care efforts for young adults with complex medical conditions. In her downtime, she enjoys watching and reading illustrated media, reading fiction, playing the piano, and gardening.
